Just another WordPress weblog

Hello, my name is Sarah Campbell - of course, if you’ve looked at much of my artwork, then you will have seen my signature enough to know that by now. This is the part of the website where I’m supposed to tell you a little bit about myself and not bore you out of your mind … hopefully.
I won’t lie to you; I’ll just admit right away that I am an artist who has never been to art school or had a single art teacher or class. Everything that I’ve learned over the years has come from practice, life observation and an ever-growing collection of art books. Naturally I’m far from done learning - I doubt that day will ever come as I am a harsh critic of my own work and see a great deal of room for improvement everywhere.
I work in watercolors, chalk pastel, oil pastel, pencil and colour pencil. In addition to this, I also do wood carving on occasion, am a fairly skilled wood burner and dabble a considerable amount into fiber arts such as sewing, knitting and weaving. I suppose I dabble in too many things to be perfectly honest … but my mind won’t sit still, and I find it’s good to have so many mediums to fall back on if I get bored with one.
Other than that I have little to say about myself other than the following: I have a great many hobbies; read incessantly; wish that I wrote better; share my room with a cat named Bea and own two ponies and a horse named Rosie, Tinkerbelle and Shai.
Of course, there is a lot more to me than that - but I would really rather you get back to looking at my artwork than focusing on me personally. I like my work to speak for itself… still, thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the website!
